What Makes Your Character Good or Evil!?

After learning about the different elements of a story including Characters, Setting, Beginning-Middle-End, Problem and Solution we have begun our Story Workshops! The children have started to create their own characters! Our first activity included each child creating a plan for their "Good and Evil" mask. After finishing our plan it was time to create our masks! It was great to see the children's creativity and artistry come out! Take a look at our "Good and Evil" character masks that are displayed in our classroom! This week we will be continuing our character creation by making puppets!

After finish step 1 (making a plan) and step 2 (painting our mask) we moved on to step 3: Decorating and adding detail!

It was great to see the creativity and difference in each of the masks. Each child put their own personal touch on their mask.

We had to be very precise with our painting. This was a great way to practice our fine motor skills!

While making their plans, the students had to think about what kind of expression their characters were going to have. Are they happy, mad, sad, surprised? It was a great way to explore different emotions and facial expressions!

The children loved choosing their own materials for their masks. We used lots of pipe cleaners, Popsicle sticks, googly eyes, ribbon, foam stickies, beads and so much more!
The final products were a great addition to our Castle Word Wall and add lots of colour to our classroom!

Can you identify who made each mask!?

Which side is Good and which side is Evil?! Take your guess!
