I would like to extend a big thank you to everyone
(including our grown ups who accompanied us on our long trek) for making our
field trip on Friday such a positive and fun experience. The sun came out and
was shining while the children and grown ups had a great time exploring the
Dairy farm and experience “hands on” what it was like to be a farmer in the
past and present! This experience was a great way to kick off our Science unit
where we will be looking at how the farming community contributes to our local
communities. The children are already showing so much interest and inquiry into
the topic. I look forward to the next few weeks of exploration!
Enjoy our large collection of photos from Friday!

| Such an engaging and interesting program for all ages! |
| We had a race to see which cow could produce the most milk! Everyone got a chance to make their predictions! |
| The children learned about the different methods for milking cows including a robotic arm! |
| Now it was our turn to milk Bilbo! |
'
| The children each took turns feeling Bilbo's soft fur and then practiced their milking techniques! |
| Of course the teachers and grown ups had to take their turn! Go Mrs. TV! |
| The students learned how they could make butter the old fashioned way! |
| This calf was only 3 days old! |
| Release the goats! |
| The kids loved feeding the goats with their baby bottles |
| This field trip was definitely a memorable one! The kids and grown ups were so engaged. The amount of hands on learning we got to do was tremendous! |
Aldor Acres is a
great place for a family outing and they even do birthday parties. Brian and
Erin (who run the farm) have such a rich and dynamic program set up. There is
learning for children and adults! For more information on this great farm you
